Don't get me wrong I happen to be open to any new stuff from you guys. Having developed a small game (useing directX and C++) for my Computer Programming degree I understand how bloody hard it is to work out all of the little kinks that creep up. I also think its great that you guys are open for input from the gaming community, seems that this is the first game that when ever i think "hmm they should add 'this' or 'that' ", that more often than not it gets added in. I cant wait to see how it playes out. Great job on the game.

That's a bit of a difficult request since the smart money is to program the looks towards the target audience; who tend to like the strippers. I think having the option for both functional and well, however you wish to term it, would be win/win for everyone.

I'm liking the idea, and trust that Anet will do what they need to for balance and originality. My big concern follows in the armor line, though. They need to make sure they don't make the mistake they made on monk, ranger, and mesmer male armor. Male armor should be badass, like the warrior and necro, not (insert politically correct derogatory term for wimpy here). Make it ARMOR, make it cool looking.... don't make it a suit or stupid looking tatoos or the like.

Same kinda idea goes for the female, too. Yeah! Skimpy! WOO!! But seriously, it's armor... i.e. to protect. Make it leather and make it functional, so it covers most of the body.

Haha reading some of the posts made me laugh. Some people are already whining about how the Assassin will be overpowered.... What the? Hoorah for wild speculation without any information whatsoever.

How about we hold off on the complaints UNTIL they put out actual information such as skill lists and attribute lines? And even then ACTUAL testing of the class is needed before you can actually whine about the class being overpowered.

Anywho, I have to agree with the folks that think all the "WTF NOT original" gripe is pretty funny. If it hasn't been done before in a game I'd be amazed, but still able to find it in a book. Come up with something original and you get a gold star; else you're welcome to a nice tall glass of STFU. It's all in the implimentation; wether ANet will be able to impliment a balanced stealth function remains to be seen, but have a bit of faith...or at least some patience.

I shudder at the thought of scrapping my main character to remake him though; but if they ever fixed UW drops to make FoW armor reasonably obtainable it wouldn't be so bad. I mean really, the solo farmers have been smacked around enough to deny all but the truely skilled; so why not put UW back to a drop rate equal to the difficulty (read: like it was originally)?

I'm gonna remain sceptical
to me, warrior is a plate wearing melee class with good defensive abilities.

assassin is leather-wearing stealthy leathal-damage-dealing poison-using you-are-dead-before-you-know-you-got-hit melee class.

I'd like to see a rider class.
Maybe a horse, or wyvern, or some kind of large beast (the wyvern still would of course not be able to fly, maybe a baby-wyvern?)
Where you'd have a similar skill as charm animal. (ohh maybe drakes could be riding creatures) and along with that, introduce lances. Maybe a spearman, or hunter, or dragoon, or something of the sort.

I must say, a Dragoon/Necromancer would be pretty cool.. D/N.
Just throwing some ideas out there.

I wonder if all new characters will have to go through the whole game again. I've done it 4 times (every quest, every mission, not a single runner). No offense, but I don't really want to do it again. It would sure be nice if you could do an ammended version with the new char's. I know this get's messy, as there should be a learning/proving ground and a way to earn skills and items for the new classes. But seriously, playing through ascalon and kryta again would be like banging my head against the wall. There's gotta be some way to start at the desert or do an abbreviated or new low level storyline or something.

assassin are to me bad in defense good in evading, in offense they are fast, but weak atks and have 1 hit ko skills, if not 1 hit then 1 strong hit.

Maybe the assassin should have increased damage when hit from behind, or hitting enemies that decide to run, and maybe assassins should have katar upgrades like (Katar blade - Always inflict crippled status on running foes). This will eliminate the annoying runners in pvp.

And along with your poison idea, maybe there should be a new condition called Deadly Poison or Lethal Poison which gives maybe 6 or 7 degen rather than 4 but strictly for assassins.

Annoying runners in PvP can be eleminated by throwing a Frozen Burst on them...

I kind of wonder what the assassin dance will be. I mean, they've already got the stripper dance covered by the ranger, and the goth dance is covered by the necro - maybe the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOty goth stripper dance?

Or... ability damage. I'd pretty much count on it in some form. It's one of the really great ideas that hasn't been used yet.
